You'll be filled with pride of ownership each time you pull into the long driveway and are welcomed home to this private retreat in Amherst's Saddle Hill neighborhood.

With a 7-acre canvas, you can paint any outdoor lifestyle picture you want:
The front yard is a great place to express your personality through landscaping...

...or use some space to create your own farm-to-table experience.

The more adventurous can cut a trail into the woods out back, explore your own nature preserve, and gather the fruits of your wanderings.

For the less adventurous, there's always the two-level deck and pool, where you can explore different spice rubs for grilling and wrestle with nothing more challenging than a lounge chair or inflatable float.

The inside of the home is just as alluring and versatile as the outside.

The two-story foyer is at once grand and welcoming, and is flanked by a comfortably elegant dining room to the right and an office/formal sitting room (your choice) to the left.

The kitchen is the heart of the home, of course, and whether you're prepping snacks for a swarm of teenagers or practicing for your Food Network competition, you'll find all the space and tools you need.

You can grab a quick bite at the kitchen island, take your time at the kitchen table, carry your plates out the slider to the deck and dine al fresco, or take them into the living room and chow down on the couch so you don't miss any of the big game.

The family room will be the hub for relaxing family time or friendly get-togethers, and the pellet stove and ceiling fans combine with the central air to maintain cozy comfort all year long.

In the warmer months, you may spend most of your time on the gorgeous screen porch--a great place to share a pitcher of iced tea with your book club; or set up your Peloton and exercise indoors and outdoors at the same time!

Another great feature of this home is the custom-designed mudroom, featuring plenty of cubbies, cabinets, drawers, shoe storage, and a durable tile floor--a dream come true for Marie Kondo fans. If it can help the current family of 9 stay organized, imagine what it will do for you!

Upstairs, the five bedrooms provide options for the current times: they're big enough to accommodate multiple occupants, or you can convert one or more to to home office or study space and use the downstairs office as additional common living space.

The master or primary bedroom suite features a cathedral ceiling, a roomy walk-in closet, a window storage bench, and bath with soaking tub and double vanity.
Second bedroom, also with a window storage bench.

Back downstairs, the basement includes a nice media room, perfect for binge-watching Netflix or hosting a Disney-watching party. Just add popcorn!

The rest of the enormous finished basement is a blank slate for your ideas. The current owners have constructed an epic furniture-and-blanket fort that they get lost in, but you can make this space whatever you wish--a game room, dance studio, home gym, music practice space, etc. With walkout access to the yard you can bring the outdoors in and the indoors out, so it's really up to your imagination how you use it!

There are some built-in cabinets along the wall, and some raw storage at the far end of the basement. If storage is a concern, you also have pull-down access to the attic that is partially floored for additional space.
Some Additional Updates and Features:
- New roof by Adam Vaillancourt Roofing, 2017.
- 15kw Generac whole-house propane generator.
- Whole-house carbon water filter.
- Upgraded the HVAC to two Carrier 19 Seer furnace/air-conditioner heat pumps (supplemented by propane) with Honeywell steam humidifiers.
- Navien on-demand 0-9 gpm hot water heater with lifetime burner warranty.
- Thermostatically-controlled whole house fan.
- High-pressure air line runs from workshop to garage to provide compressed air to both.
- Water softener system. Exterior water lines separated from system so treated water is not wasted on lawn and gardens.
Additionally, the house was constructed with 2x12 floor joists with double wooden cross bracing to prevent floor squeaks; and was built with all plywood (no particle board). The floor heights were also increased to ensure true 8-foot ceilings when finished.

About Amherst, New Hampshire:
Amherst is bordered by Mont Vernon and New Boston to the northwest, Bedford to the northeast, Merrimack to the east, Hollis to the south, and Milford to the southwest. Like many New England towns, Amherst was the result of a land grant given to soldiers – in this case, to participants in King Philip's War. Settlement started in around 1733, and in 1741 settlers formed the Congregational church and hired the first minister. The town was finally chartered on 18 January 1760. The estimated population as of 2015 was 11,261, and the town has one of the highest per-capita incomes in the state (ranked 14th).
The town celebrates its history by preserving its historical architecture, lands, and resources, but there is no shortage of 21st century amenities, and you're just an hour from Boston, from the White Mountains, or from the beautiful shore and beaches of the coast.
This home is situated on a cul-de-sac almost exactly one mile in circuit--perfect for walking or bike-riding. It's just down the road from La Belle Winery, and almost directly across Route 101 from the Amherst Garden Center.
With its beautiful, private grounds and its size and variety of functional living space, this could be the perfect home for you!
